She participated in the 2006 TV reality show Indian Idol 2. In 2008, Neha made her singing debut with the album Neha the Rock Star, composed by Meet Brothers. Neha Kakkar was born on 6 June 1988 in Rishikesh, Uttarakhand state, India. 29-year-old talented singer Neha started singing religious hymns when she was 4 years old. He had told how hard his father used to work to run his family. Along with this, she also said that she was inspired by her elder sister about the song.

Neha's education – initiation took place in Delhi itself. He did his early studies from New Holy Public School in Delhi. When she was in Delhi in 11th she participated in a reality show, later she could not complete her studies due to her busyness and inclination towards singing. Because she lacked time, due to which she could not go to college.

Apart from her parents, she also has a sister and brother in Neha's family. His father's name is Rishikesh Kakkar, who works in an NGO and mother's name is Neeti Kakkar, she is a housewife. Neha Kakkar's brother's name is Tony Kakkar, who is a music director. Tony has composed music for Creature 3D, Paraguay and Hanju, and his sister's name is Sonu Kakkar, she is also a singer.
